Call About an Urgent Matter: 201-897-7750

Arrangements and timing are subject to availability and your legal needs.

When circumstances change quickly, the next legal step matters. Willis Law Group handles urgent and time-sensitive elder-law, estate-planning and estate-related matters. Tell us what is happening, where the matter is located and when action may be needed so we can discuss the appropriate review and our availability.

For a matter with an approaching deadline, please call and explain the urgency rather than rely solely on an online inquiry. Tell the team about any court date, agency notice, hospital discharge or threatened transaction. Our contact page is also available for general inquiries; do not submit confidential records through the public form.

Priority Scheduling and Flexible Support When Time Matters

Urgent circumstances call for a practical, coordinated response. We offer priority scheduling and flexible ways to meet, exchange documents and move agreed legal work forward. Tell us what your situation requires so we can discuss the arrangements that fit your needs and timeframe.

  • Priority scheduling. Let our team know about an approaching deadline or rapidly changing circumstances so we can prioritize scheduling and review the next steps.
  • Video meetings. We use video meetings to discuss concerns, review documents and coordinate with clients and family members when meeting remotely is the most practical option.
  • Short-notice on-site meetings. When an in-person meeting is needed, we can arrange on-site meetings on short notice, subject to location and availability. Explain any travel, health or care-related limitations when you call.
  • DocuSign and document coordination. We use DocuSign for engagement paperwork and other documents appropriate for electronic signature, helping clients complete eligible paperwork remotely. We coordinate any additional signing arrangements the particular documents require.

Support in and out of court. Depending on the matter and agreed representation, our work may involve planning and document preparation, communications with agencies and other professionals, negotiation, or court applications and advocacy. We adapt the approach to the client’s legal needs, the urgency and the work required.

Contact us to discuss priority scheduling, meeting arrangements and the proposed work. Specific timing, availability, fees and the scope of representation are confirmed for each matter.

Guardianships and Sudden Incapacity

A family may need legal guidance when an adult can no longer make decisions, authority to act is disputed, or a vulnerable person faces a rapidly developing concern. We can review the circumstances, existing documents and whether an application or another course of action should be considered. Explore our guardianship services and New Jersey emergency-guardianship guide. The need for prompt help does not by itself establish that emergency court relief is available.

Medicaid Notices, Care Crises and Application Deadlines

A proposed care admission, hospital discharge, request for records, denial or threatened benefits termination may require a prompt review. Bring the complete notice and its dates, any application already filed, and information about current care. Start with Medicaid crisis planning, pending applications and agency requests, or New Jersey application representation.

Time-Sensitive Wills, Trusts and Decision-Making Documents

Serious illness, upcoming surgery or an important family change can make an existing plan need attention sooner. Explain which decisions or documents are involved and who needs to participate. Our review addresses the circumstances and what work may be appropriate; documents cannot be promised before the necessary legal review. See our estate-planning services.

Estate Disputes, Financial Exploitation and Threatened Asset Transfers

Contact us about suspected misuse of authority, disputed estate or trust transactions, threatened transfers, or an approaching litigation date. Preserve the records you already have and identify any existing attorney or court proceeding. Our estate-litigation practice and asset-protection guidance provide related information. Whether protective relief is appropriate depends on the facts and applicable law.

Probate, Trust Administration and Special Needs Planning

Executors, trustees and families may face filing dates, urgent property concerns, beneficiary disputes, or a pending inheritance or settlement affecting a person with disabilities. Explain the role you hold and the decision that cannot wait. Explore probate and estate administration, trust administration, and special needs planning.

Help Us Understand the Urgency

  • The immediate concern: What has happened, and what action or decision is approaching?
  • The deadline: Give the exact date and identify the notice, court paper or other source.
  • The location: Tell us whether the matter concerns New Jersey or New York and the relevant county.
  • The people and existing authority: Identify who needs help, your role, and any power of attorney, guardianship order or current attorney.
  • A reliable callback: Provide the best telephone number and tell us when you can speak.

What to Expect

Your initial meeting: Meet with an attorney for 30 minutes. Your initial meeting fee is always credited toward any legal service you retain Willis Law Group to provide.

We discuss the circumstances and whether the proposed work can be undertaken within the available timeframe. Availability, fees and the scope of representation must be confirmed for the particular matter. Calling or submitting an inquiry does not establish representation, extend a deadline or guarantee a court order, benefit approval or other outcome.
